The Israel Lands Council this morning (Wednesday) approved the proposal of the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Remi to extend the model of the roof agreements until the end of next year.

The Ministry of Construction and Housing is currently preparing additional new roof agreements with the localities of Bnei Aish, Rehovot, Rechasim, Tamra and Ma'ale Adumim, with a total volume of approximately 45,000 new housing units.

At the same time, Rami is promoting new agreements with Kiryat Gat (Kiryat Gat West), Ness Ziona, Kfar Saba, Umm al-Fahm and Petah Tikva, amounting to 44,600 housing units.

"Roof agreement" is an agreement made between the State of Israel, RMI, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Construction and Housing and local authorities, in order to increase the supply of apartments. As part of the agreement, the state undertakes to finance the construction of public buildings, educational institutions and infrastructure. On the other hand, the local authority undertakes to grant developers a building permit within 90 days.As part of the agreement, a defined schedule is set for promoting the project.So far, the Ministry of Construction and Housing and the Israel Land Authority have signed 32 roof agreements with local authorities.
