The UK election will reach its final destination on Thursday, with Kingdom residents standing in the polling booths. Among the Jewish community, the second largest in Western Europe (which numbers an estimated 300,000), great vigilance, as a future government led by the Labor Party is seen as a real threat to its future.

Not coincidentally, Labor raises concern among the Jews. Leader Jeremy Corbyn and other prominent figures in the party have been attributed over the past few years to a series of statements of anti-Semitic and anti-Israeli character. The harsh feelings among the community are also expressed by surveys conducted by the Jewish Cronicle, the largest Jewish newspaper in Britain, according to which more than 85% of Jews think Corbin is anti-Semitic. A similar lesson believes that anti-Semitism exists in all walks of life. The polls also indicated that 40% of British Jews would consider immigrating to the extent that Corbyn was appointed prime minister.

Fear of the rise of Labor is particularly great when one considers the leap in anti-Semitism cases. In a report published in early 2019 by the Diaspora Ministry, it was emphasized that the number of reported anti-Semitic attacks in the UK is at its record level for the second year in a row. According to the CST community security organization, last year, around an average of 100 anti-Semitic incidents occurred in the UK last month. -160 incidents.

Another event that raised the pressure level was the terror attack that took place two weeks ago at the London Bridge, where two civilians were stabbed to death.

The rush to the apartment

"British Jews are in a great deal of anxiety. Every incident just adds to their uncertainty," says Marcello Inchalini, CEO and owner of Franchi Real Estate , which specializes in real estate brokerage and representation and foreign representation. I hear that the sense of security in the community has completely dissipated, and its members are careful to hide any external signs that indicate their Jewishness for fear of manifestations of anti-Semitism. For them, a Labor party led by Jeremy Corbyn would clearly mean a red line. "

According to Inchalini, because of the situation in the Jewish community, Britain no longer sees their future and wants to rent an apartment in another country, with the Holy Land being a preferred hostel. "There is a flood of phones," he reports. "There is a panic for apartments in Israel. In my estimation, thousands of Jews are expected to land in the country in the near future and storm the properties here."

"Families who want to be absorbed in Israel do not settle for one apartment but ask me to find two and even three apartments for them, which will also be for the younger generation," continues Inchalini, who is in regular contact with Jewish communities overseas. "As far as British Jews are concerned, this is not a temporary transition until a rage passes, but a desire to open a new life here. Israel has a reputation as a safe, progressive and high quality of life, and for them to reserve a home for themselves they do not hesitate to open the pocket."

Marcello Inchellini: "Flood of phones"

Tel Aviv, and especially the northern and central parts of the city and the Old North, are at the forefront of British Jewry, with neighboring cities - Ramat Gan, Givatayim, Herzliya, Raanana and Ramat Hasharon - enjoying high demand. "The demand is mainly for 5-3 room apartments, and among the older population also for penthouses, in a wide price range of NIS 8-3 million," explains Inchalini. "It is clear to all of us that moving from one country to another is a dramatic step, so our task is to find high-standard British residents and facilitate their adaptation.

"Our escort is tight and continuous. It starts from the very beginning of the first phone call and continues on a virtual tour that we conduct clients on the potential assets. Upon arrival in Israel, our teams collect them from the airport, close them to hotels, arrange visits for a wide selection of apartments and meet with their owners. We are, of course, involved in all stages of the negotiations, and assist in the transition process right up to the entrance to the new home. "
