Haim Bibbs: Local Government Will Finish One-Third of Urban Renewal and Peripheral Buildings Projects

Local authorities will allocate one-third of the budgets needed to promote urban renewal projects in the peripheral communities, provided the government allocates the remaining amount: The Committee on Principal Planning Issues at the National Planning and Building Council. These are now being discussed further in the operation of TAMA 38, until its end in October 2022, as stipulated in a joint resolution of all the government agencies involved.

Bibbs announced that "the local government is strongly opposed to the state's intention to extend Tama 38, without a proper budgeting for implementation in the local authorities in the periphery."

In light of this, he announced that the local government would work to finance about 1/3 of the promotion of projects in the periphery of the Lottery budget, provided that the government would complete the required funding.

"The government cannot evade its commitment to all citizens of the State of Israel. Reality has proven that TAMA 38 primarily serves entrepreneurs in demand areas and does not answer the periphery communities at all. We decided to lift the glove and bring in a budget that would correct the injustice and provide a real response to urban renewal in Israel - whether through incentives or through roof agreements. This is so that the residents can live in proper apartments, study in new educational institutions and create a vital infrastructure envelope for them, "said Bibs.
